IFEl Welcomes Mary Giovinazzo, MSW, To The WOCCON Leadership Council

Newark, NJ, January 6, 2021 — The Institute For Entrepreneurial Leadership (IFEL) announced today that Mary Giovinazzo, LCSW, MSW, has joined the Women Of Color Connecting (WOCCON) Leadership Council. Women of Color Connecting is an IFEL initiative focused on leveraging the power of relationship capital to help more women of color entrepreneurs grow, scale, and create wealth from their businesses.

Mary Giovinazzo, MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with her own practice in Westfield, New Jersey. A former resident of Red Bank, N.J. with a long history of community involvement and activism, Ms. Giovinazzo has experience as a psychotherapist in a wide variety of clinical, community and professional settings. She is passionate about helping women to succeed in both their personal and professional lives and has served in numerous capacities within organizations designed to empower and help women.

Mary states, “I come from a family of entrepreneurs, including my parents and four siblings, so I’m very aware of the challenges and rewards associated with starting up and sustaining a small business. There is not enough support for entrepreneurs, which is particularly poignant in Covid times. While I’ve long been a social justice advocate, my goal is to become a strong and effective ally for racial and economic justice in as many ways as I can. I am very motivated to support individuals and communities, and especially Women of Color, who have suffered the most injustices. I’m honored to join WOCCON and to help support the start-up and expansion of women-owned businesses by listening and learning, and working to help cultivate financial and personal resources.”

IFEL CEO Jill Johnson says, “Mary Giovinazzo has been a wonderful supporter of our work for many years. We are thrilled at the perspective she brings to the WOCCON Leadership Council as a champion for gender equity that is inclusive of women of color. Her allyship and advocacy will benefit the WOCCON community immensely.”
